Plumbing Repair In Las Vegas And Clark County

A plumbing problem rarely announces itself politely. It shows up as a stain on a ceiling, a water bill that jumped for no reason, or a shower that went cold halfway through. The job of a repair visit is to find the real cause, not the loudest symptom, and to tell you what it costs before anyone picks up a tool.

The short answer

Plumbing repair covers the everyday failures in a home water system: dripping fixtures, running toilets, failed shutoff valves, weak pressure and noisy pipes. Most are small parts that fail on a schedule. A plumber diagnoses the actual cause first, then quotes the repair before any work starts.

Is this you?

Signs You Need This

  • A faucet or shower that drips after the handle is fully closed
  • A toilet that refills by itself every few minutes
  • Water pressure that dropped across the whole house, not one fixture
  • A shutoff valve under a sink that will not turn, or leaks when it does
  • Banging or knocking in the walls when a tap shuts off
  • A water bill that rose with no change in how much water you use

If that is not quite it: If the water is backing up out of a floor drain or more than one fixture at once, that is a drain or sewer problem, not a fixture repair. Start at drain cleaning or sewer line services instead.

How it runs

How The Work Goes

  1. Describe the symptom on the phoneWhat is wet, what changed, and when it started. This decides what goes on the truck.
  2. Diagnosis on siteIsolate the failing part. On pressure complaints this includes a gauge reading at the hose bib, because a house wide drop is a different repair from one slow faucet.
  3. Quote before workYou get the price for the repair, and the price for the alternative if a replacement makes more sense than a patch.
  4. Repair and testThe fixture is run, the joint is checked dry, and the shutoff is left in working order.

What it costs

What Moves The Price

We do not publish a price list, because a real number depends on what is actually wrong. What we can tell you is exactly what the quote will turn on.

  • Whether the part is a stocked standard cartridge or a discontinued model that has to be sourced
  • How accessible the connection is: an open cabinet against a slab penetration behind tile
  • Whether scale from 17 grain water has seized the fitting, which turns a swap into a cut and rebuild
  • How many fixtures are involved, since a second one on the same visit does not cost a second visit

How the estimate works. The cause gets diagnosed first, then you get the price for the work before it starts. Where repair and replacement are both reasonable, you see both numbers rather than one.

The service call. The diagnostic and callout policy is quoted on the phone before anyone is dispatched, including whether it is credited toward the work. Ask when you call, and you will get a straight answer rather than a figure invented for a web page.

The Questions People Actually Ask

Is it worth repairing or should I replace the fixture?

If the body is sound and the cartridge is available, a repair is usually the cheaper answer. If the same fixture has been rebuilt before, or the finish is failing, replacement stops the repeat visits. You get both numbers before you decide.

Can I just tighten it myself?

Often yes, and a slow drip at a compression nut is worth trying. What is not worth trying is an angle stop that will not turn. Forcing a seized valve on a 20 year old stub out is how a small drip becomes a shut down the house at the street.

Will you find something else once you are in there?

Sometimes, and the rule is simple: nothing extra gets done without a separate price and your word first.

Do you charge to come out?

Ask when you call. The diagnostic policy is quoted on the phone before anyone is dispatched, so there is no surprise at the door.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical plumbing repair take?

Most single fixture repairs are done inside one visit. A stuck valve, a slab penetration or a part that has to be sourced can turn it into two.

Why do Las Vegas fixtures fail faster than they should?

Las Vegas Valley Water District reports the valley water at 291 parts per million, or 17 grains per gallon, which it classes as very hard. That mineral load deposits on cartridge seats, aerators and valve seals, so the moving parts inside a faucet wear out sooner here than in a soft water city.

My pressure dropped everywhere at once. Is that a repair?

Usually it is a single point: a failed pressure reducing valve, a partly closed main shutoff, or a clogged whole house filter. That is why the visit starts with a gauge reading rather than pulling a faucet apart.

Do you work on older homes?

Yes. Older valley homes bring galvanized stub outs and discontinued fixture brands, both of which change the approach. Tell us the age of the house when you call.

Can you repair a fixture I bought myself?

Yes. Have the model number ready, because the cartridge has to match.

What if the repair does not hold?

Call back. Any warranty terms are stated in writing on your invoice, not promised over the phone.
